![]() ![]() Desktops with liquid or superior air cooling don’t have this issue, but laptops are nowhere near capable of that level of cooling. Under sustained high utilization, the turbo is just too hot to maintain indefinitely. These CPU’s have a lot of performance headroom so they can work super fast in short bursts, before they get too hot. You will still hit 100C under a typical CPU benchmark. It means going turbo for a little longer before the thermal throttling kicks in. But realistically, that just means achieving higher performance up until 100C. Yes, undervolting and repasting might help bring down your average temps, and so might the new cooling design in the X series. Both of those options will reduce performance. If you don’t want them to perform as designed, you can reduce turbo power limits, or in the case of TCC, you can set the thermal throttling to kick in at a lower temp, i.e. ![]() Gaming laptop CPU’s will run as fast as possible until they reach 100C where thermal throttling will engage to keep them from going above 100C.
